The 10 Best Places to Find a Construction Job

These 10 American cities and metro areas saw the largest increase in new construction jobs during June 2025.

If you work in the construction industry and are looking for employment, recent data suggests now is a great time to find a job in the labor force. With data released for the month of June, we recently reported that June’s unemployment rate was at its second lowest point in the last decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

Fresh data put out by the Associated General Contractors of America also shows that June saw an increase in construction jobs. Overall, June 2025 saw a 1.5% increase in construction jobs added compared to June 2024. Although some areas did see job loss, 66% of construction markets saw either an increase in jobs or no change, when compared to their June 2024 numbers. 

So, whether you’re a tradesman looking for employment or just curious about how the construction industry is fairing in your metro area, here are the 10 areas with the most construction jobs added in June 2025:

1.        Arlington/Alexandria/Reston, VA/WV Division

·      June ’25: 93,100 total jobs (up 8,000 jobs from June ’24)

·      9% increase Year over Year (YOY)

2.        Cincinnati, OH/KY/IN Division

·      June ’25: 59,000 total jobs (up 5,400 jobs from June ’24)

·      10% YOY Increase 

3.        Washington, DC/MD Division

·      June ’25: 51,600 total jobs (up 4,900 jobs from June ’24)

·      10% YOY Increase 

4.        Boise City, ID

·      June ’25: 40,600 total jobs (up 4,700 jobs from June ’24)

·      13% YOY Increase

5.        Miami/Miami Beach/Kendal, FL Division

·      June ’25: 63,200 total jobs (up 4,500 jobs from June ’24)

·      8% YOY Increase

6.        Dallas/Plano/Irving, TX Division 

·      June ’25: 172,500 total jobs (up 4,400 jobs from June ’24)

·      3% YOY Increase

7.        Fort Worth/Arlington/Grapevine, TX Division

·      June ’25: 89,300 total jobs (up 3,800 jobs from June ’24)

·      4% YOY Increase

8.        Salt Lake City/Murray, UT Division 

·      June ’25: 64,100 total jobs (up 3,800 jobs from June ’24)

·      6% YOY Increase

9.        New Orleans/Metairie, LA Division 

·      June ’25: 28,300 total jobs (up 3,600 jobs from June ’24)

·      15% YOY Increase

10.  St. Louis, MO/IL Division

·      June ’25: 82,600 total jobs (up 3,500 jobs from June ’24)

·      4% YOY Increase
